Seems like you getting the layout a little bit better. Would just love it if I could get it to be totally quite when the music stops, maybe I should be thinking about hardware gate. I really am impressed what it does even just on the two bus even though it's usess are endless. Which I haven't till this unit, suggesting that I might be asking too much and mybe it's part of this is to be expected using valve gear. He's had it back a couple of times and has improved it a little and has also added a second gain knob just below the main gain knob as in the pic's, I think he's tapped this straight into one of the tubes to give me more control over gaining one of the valves more than the other plus a pad switch for the other valve which has greatly made this unit more useful so I can't complain there.īut when I told him the hum has got a little better but is still there he asked have I used valve equipment before My thinks I'm going to copy his work, I don't know.but he seems to know what he's doing. He gets a bit vague when I have asked for schematics This guy has basically used his own circuit or one of many schematics of the web/or book or maybe just off his own knowledge. Might be worth getting a schematic for them and seeing if it is the same circuit - could give you a better idea of what compromises were made turning it into a preamp, always assuming it DID start life out in a Ferrograph tape recorder.Hi, no its not the same as the analogue addicts circuits as they seem to use more of the ferrographs part's plus power supply. That looks uncannily like some of the ex-Ferrograph tape recorder electrics that have been sold on ebay UK for some time.
